A Romantic Destination Wedding in Bordeaux, France
Bordeaux, France, is a dream destination for many couples who want to tie the knot in a place that exudes romance, elegance, and charm. With its stunning architecture, world-class wine, and scenic landscapes, Bordeaux offers a variety of wedding venues that can suit any style and budget. In this blog post, I will share with you one of the most beautiful weddings that I had the privilege to photograph in Bordeaux, as a destination wedding photographer.
The couple travelled from England, and they chose to have their wedding in the gorgeous Chateau Clerbise in the heart of Bordeaux’s vineyards. The chateau, which dates back to the 17th century, has been renovated and transformed into a luxury wedding venue, with a chapel, a courtyard, and a reception hall. The chateau also offers accommodation for up to 50 guests, making it ideal for a destination wedding.
The wedding day was sunny and warm, and the chateau was surrounded by lush greenery and blooming flowers. Gemma and Ash had a traditional ceremony in the chapel, which was decorated with white roses and candles. The bride wore a stunning lace gown, and the groom wore a navy suit. They exchanged their vows in front of their family and friends, who flew from England to witness their special day.
After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed a cocktail hour in the courtyard, where they sampled some of the finest wines from Bordeaux. The chateau’s staff served delicious canapés and hors d’oeuvres, while a live band played some jazz tunes. The couple and I took this opportunity to sneak away and take some portraits in the vineyards, where we captured some amazing shots of them in the golden light.
The reception was held in the reception hall, which was elegantly decorated with white and gold accents. The tables were adorned with white tablecloths, gold chargers, and white floral centerpieces. The chateau’s chef prepared a mouthwatering four-course meal, featuring some of the local specialties, such as foie gras, duck confit, and cheese. The couple and their guests enjoyed the food, the wine, and the speeches, and then danced the night away to the music of a DJ.
The wedding was a perfect blend of tradition, elegance, and fun, and I was honored to be a part of it. Emily and James were a lovely couple, and they radiated happiness and love throughout the day. As a Bordeaux wedding photographer, I love to capture the beauty and the emotion of destination weddings, and this one was no exception.
