A Romantic Wedding at Customs House in Brisbane
Brisbane, Queensland, is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city that offers many options for couples who want to celebrate their love in style. One of the most iconic and historic venues in Brisbane is Customs House, a heritage-listed building that overlooks the Brisbane River and the Story Bridge. In this blog post, I will share with you one of the most beautiful weddings that I had the opportunity to photograph at Customs House, as a Brisbane wedding photographer.
The couple, Lillian and Tom, are from Brisbane, and they chose to have their wedding at Customs House because of its stunning architecture, exquisite cuisine, and superb service. Customs House has six private event spaces that can accommodate different sizes and styles of weddings, from intimate to grand.
The wedding day was sunny and mild, and Customs House was decorated with white and pink accents. Lillian and Tom had a traditional ceremony in the Long Room, which features high ceilings, chandeliers, and a balcony with river views. The bride wore a beautiful lace gown, and the groom wore a grey suit. They exchanged their vows in front of their family and friends, who came from near and far to witness their special day.
After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed a cocktail hour in the River Room, where they savoured some of the finest wines and canapés from Customs House’s award-winning restaurant. The couple and I took this opportunity to take some portraits in the various settings of Customs House, such as the balcony, the courtyard, and the colonnades. We captured some amazing shots of them in the natural light and the historic backdrop.
The reception was held in the Main Hall, which was elegantly set up with white tablecloths, pink napkins, and white floral centerpieces. Customs House’s chef prepared a delicious three-course meal, featuring some of the local specialties, such as barramundi, beef, and cheese. The couple and their guests enjoyed the food, the wine, and the speeches, and then danced the night away to the music of a DJ.
The wedding was a perfect combination of elegance, romance, and fun, and I was honoured to be a part of it. Lillian and Tom were a lovely couple, and they showed their happiness and love throughout the day. As a Brisbane wedding photographer, I love to capture the beauty and the emotion of weddings, and this one was no exception.
